Random Acts of Kindness Day 2021 competition terms and conditions

  1. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or over except close relatives of the promoters: Heather Barnett, Colline Watts, Helen Vickers and anyone otherwise connected with the judging of the competition.

  2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

  3. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  5. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.

  6. Closing date for entry will be Friday 12th February 2021. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.

  7. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

Either: complete the form on this webpage http://heatherbarnettauthor.com/giveaway - enter your contact details into the form, along with the name of the person you’re nominating to receive the Random Acts of Kindness Day giveaway, and the reason for your nomination. Or: go to the competition post on @WritesHeather (Twitter or Instagram) and reply/comment with the person you’re nominating and the reason for your nomination.

  10. The promoters reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoters.

  11. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

  12. The prize is as follows: a box of 4 chocolate brownies from Colline’s Kitchen, a flower arrangement from Willow & Blooms and a signed advance reader copy of Acts of Kindness by Heather Barnett. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

  13. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges appointed by the promoters.

  14. The ten winners will be notified by email within 72 hours of the closing date. If any winner cannot be contacted, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from that winner and pick a replacement winner.

  15. The winners must be able to provide the full addresses for their nominated recipients and be able to confirm that the recipient will be available to take delivery of the prize on 17th February 2021.

  16. The nominated recipients must live in Newbury or Thatcham or close surrounding area.

  17. The promoters’ decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  18. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  19. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

  20. Winners agree to the use of his/her name in any publicity material, as well as their nomination entry. Any personal data relating to the winners, their nominees or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

  21. The winners’ names will be available 28 days after closing date by emailing the following address: heatherbarnettuk@hotmail.com.

  22. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  23. The promoters’ decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

  24. The promoters shall have the right, at their sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.

  25. The promoters also reserve their right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of their control.
